Homes designed for their land: the light, the slope, the view, the way the snow drifts. We work with your architect or bring one we trust, and manage permits, site work and build under one contract.

Custom homes, additions and renovations in the Hudson Valley, from Gardiner, New York.
Wiley Construction is an owner-led building firm based in Gardiner, at the foot of the Shawangunk Ridge.
We build new homes, add on to good ones, and renovate houses that deserve another century, working in timber, stone and steel with the patience they ask for.
We take on a limited number of projects each year. That way Ryan Wiley is involved in every one, from the first site walk to the final punch list, and is still the person you call afterward.
Based in Gardiner. We know the building departments, the soils and the suppliers.
You work with the owner, not a sales team.
One contract and one point of contact for the house and the land around it.
We build the way we would want to maintain it, because we often do.

Ryan Wiley, Founder
Serving the Hudson Valley from Gardiner, NY
Ryan Wiley grew up in construction. He stepped away for college, then worked in government and utilities, where the work rewarded process, accountability and a clear understanding of permits and systems.
In 2016 he came back to building. Since then he has flipped homes with premium refurbishments, built new homes and renovated older ones. He founded Wiley Construction to do that work under his own name.

The best additions look as though they were always there. We match proportion, rooflines and materials, and handle structure and systems so the old house and the new part work as one.

From 18th-century stone houses to mid-century modern homes, we open walls carefully, repair what is worth keeping and improve what is not.

A house is more than its walls. For owners who split their time with the city, that means one call for everything.
Wiley Home Stewardship: scheduled walkthroughs, seasonal opening and closing, trusted trades, storm and freeze response, and a written report with photographs after every visit.
Tree and shrub planting, beds and stone edging, installed so the house is finished with the land around it.
Gravel and paved driveway repair and regrading, culverts and the drainage that keeps them in place.
Drainage, small excavation and grading jobs, offered mainly to building and stewardship clients.
A full gut renovation of a 1790 farmhouse in Milton. We updated the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, restored the bones of the house, and brought its original wide plank and inlay floors and timber structure forward. Where we could, we reused what was already there: the brick hearth from a pre-existing fireplace now sits in the powder room floor.

Kitchen and original wide plank floors, kept and highlighted through a full gut renovation.

Original inlay flooring, highlighted rather than replaced.

Powder room, with brick from the house's pre-existing fireplace hearth set into the floor.

Built-ins scribed to old walls, floors kept where they are worth keeping, and new work made to sit quietly beside the original. In an old house, this is where the care shows.
